Brother Knights, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Masses in all the are churches have been suspended until further notice. In the newsletter that you will be receiving shortly, there will be a list of sites online to watch Mass.
In addition to this list, Father Cox will be recording Masses from the rectory and posting them on YouTube. The address is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp_DECJalig. Since we cannot receive the Eucharist in Church, we need to pray for Spiritual Communion. Here are 2 for your use. "My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You." And the second: "Oh Jesus, I turn toward the holy tabernacle where You live hidden for love of me. I love you, O my God. I cannot receive you in Holy Communion. Come, nevertheless, and visit me with Your grace. Come spiritually into my heart. Purify it. Sanctify it. Render it like unto Your own. Amen. Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed." (Thanks to John McQuillen for providing these!) Vivat Jesus! On October 27th, our Council hosted Cindy Russo from the Padre Pio group of Cleveland. She shared her experiences of how this Great Saint touched her life, and changed it to now help others discover him. She brought many Relics, including one of Padre Pio’s Chalices. Our first Chaplin, and Passed State Chaplin Father Janoch also attended sharing his thoughts about the Saint, and also the importance of the Knights of Columbus. He and Cindy also anointed those attendees who wished it. On Sunday 9/29, we held our traditional fifth Sunday Rosary in Merici Chapel at St. Charles. We dedicated the Rosary to "Our Lady of Persecuted Christians". On hand for the event was one of the Icons of "Our Lady of Persecuted Christians" that the Supreme Council loans out for devotional purposes. A photo of the Icon is displayed below.
After a year hiatus, our Council's newsletter "The Compass" is back for your perusal. You can view and download a copy by clicking or tapping HERE.
One June 22nd, our Council hosted it's first ever car show to benefit 2 ministries at Saint Charles that help feed the homeless. The event was well attended with over 80 cars displayed. Thank You to all the participants who came, and also to the many Knights who donated their time and talents. And especially to our Worthy Trustee Robert Porvasnik, who did an extraordinary job organizing and planning the event. We will be making our donations to the Cyrenians and the Holy Name Hot Meal programs soon! Beginning on Monday May the 20th and running until May 28th, our Council will be sponsoring a Novena for Life. The Knights of Columbus are a very pro-life organization, and back it up with donations of Ultrasound machines that are used to show expectant mothers the beautiful creation they carry inside with the hope that they won't terminate the child's life. The prayer is shown below, and additional prayer cards are available at the Saint Charles Rectory. Thank You for praying for this important cause!
